IT Systems Engineer (Metro Boston)


Terminal is an IT service and sales company serving a variety of small, medium, and enterprise level businesses throughout the greater Boston area. We are a previous Microsoft Certified Gold Partner and current Microsoft Certified Partner with Silver Level Competency, as well as a certified partner with Cisco, Citrix, HP, and many other software and hardware vendors.

We are currently seeking a full-time system engineer with experience in Windows networks, including Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, WINS, and Group Policy management. Exposure to Linux would be a plus. The position focuses on full management of customer IT and networks, as well as complex migrations and other projects. This position requires excellent customer service skills and abilities as it will involve a high level of direct customer interaction. Our reputation for customer service is excellent and we expect every employee to meet or exceed our customers’ expectations. Engineers are also expected to be tenacious and used to thinking outside the box to solve a variety of complex and obscure problems.

Responsibilities:

  • Handle complex Windows network issues with zero abandonment rate or escalation.
  • Prompt turn-around on scheduling and problem resolution.
  • Independently manage workload and personal task schedules for multiple projects.
  • Achieve and maintain a high level of industry certification.
  • Keep detailed information on all open services cases in our service tracking system.

Experience/Skills:

  • At least 3 years of experience in working with Windows networks.
  • Intimate knowledge of networking basics, as well as Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy and other basic network services.
  • Experience with virtualization and a strong understanding of how virtualization functions on a network.
  • Ability to troubleshoot a variety of issues including DNS resolution issues, IP address conflicts, critical service failures on production servers, disaster recovery from image based backups, etc.
  • Strong customer service skills are required. You will be interacting directly with clients and they will look to you to provide support and solutions in a timely and professional manner.
  • Ability to work independently is a must. We are a small company and each person is expected to handle their own workload efficiently.

Additionally, any Microsoft certifications are a plus, specifically MCITP in server technologies. Experience with Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft Sharepoint, Microsoft SQL, Citrix XenDesktop, and VMWare are a plus. Through our training access, you will be expected to become certified on many of these technologies, if you are not already.

Hardware and Printer Technician (Metro Boston)


We are currently seeking a part-time (with potential to be full-time) in-house technician for both warranty and non-warranty repairs of both laser printers and desktop and laptop computers, in addition to basic Windows software troubleshooting. This position requires excellent customer service skills and abilities as it will involve a high level of direct customer interaction. Our reputation for customer service is excellent and we expect every employee to meet or exceed our customers’ expectations.

Responsibilities:

  • Handle phone-calls and walk-ins from customers throughout the day.
  • Prompt turn-around on scheduling and repairs.
  • Order replacement parts needed for repairs.
  • Track and manage incoming and outgoing part and equipment shipments.
  • Keep detailed information on all open services cases in our service tracking system.

Experience/Skills:

  • At least 1 year of experience in repairing industry leading notebooks and desktop systems.
  • Comfortable replacing hard drives, motherboards, LCD screens, and other system components in both notebooks and desktops.
  • Ability to troubleshoot a variety of issues including BSOD errors, driver errors, malware and viruses, etc.
  • At least 1 year of experience in repairing industry leading mono and color laser printers.
  • Basic network and driver troubleshooting skills.
  • Comfortable replacing fusers, installing maintenance kits, and feed rollers.
  • Ability to troubleshoot a variety of issues including visual print defects, print engine and scanner malfunctions, MFP devices, connectivity, etc.
  • Strong customer service skills are required. You will be interacting directly with clients and they will look to you to provide support and solutions in a timely and professional manner.
  • Ability to work independently is a must. We are a small company and each person is expected to handle their own workload efficiently.

Additionally, any current HP, Lenovo/IBM, Toshiba, Sony, or other major OEM warranty certifications are a plus. Likewise, any Microsoft certifications or system-oriented certifications such as A+ would be beneficial. Through our training access, you will be expected to become certified on many computer and printers models, if you are not already.

This position will begin as part time with the possibility of full time in the future.
